December 14, 2005
On December 1st, 2005 , “ the Future” was NOW. The 2005 Adler fellows marked the end of the year with a spellbinding concert of opera favorites: “The Future is Now” with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra conducted by Mark Morash.
For five of the 2005 Adler Fellows, this marked the end of their Adler Fellowship with the San Francisco Opera. Including Nikki, they were Jane Archibald, Lucas Meacham, Thomas Glenn and Josh Bloom. It was the perfect farewell, for these singers, as the evening soared from height to height. Ms. Einfeld performed “Ophelia’s Mad scene” from Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet. Described in review as having “power and security in stratospheric high notes… without comparison” You can read the full review at www.sfcv.org http://www.sfcv.org , entitled “The Spirit of voices future”.
Although Nikki will miss her dear colleagues, mentors and staff members at the Opera center, she is quick to admit, “ This program has been the stepping stone to my success. The support and guidance of the staff, and of the members of the Adler Fellowship program have given me the tools to be the artist that I am today. I will forever be grateful.” Nikki and her fellow outgoing colleagues have much to look forward to in the future, but will always find open arms within the walls of the San Francisco Opera.
In other performance new, “The Magic Flute” with the Canadian Opera Company opens this Friday with 3 Sold out Performances. The cast, (in which Nikki sings “the Queen of the Night”) is working with director Andrew Porter, renowned opera critic and libretto translator, with his English translation of the show, along with Conductor Richard Bradshaw. Check back soon for updates and reviews of this show.
